Jamie Dardar is the Youth Programs Manager for Taproot Earth.

As a proud United Houma Nation tribal member, she brings a lifetime of personal commitment to Indigenous frontline communities. She got her start in climate justice following hurricanes Gustave and Ike and began community organizing as a Gulf Coast Fellow in 2009. 

Jamie received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Louisiana State University where she served on the diversity board and co-founded the university’s first Native American Student Association. As an educator, Jamie assisted Indigenous students with practicing traditional crafts and guided them in navigating college and career planning and preparation. She currently serves on the Education Committee of the United Houma Nation. Jamie is a married mother of four, and a native of Dulac, Louisiana.
